9am Alan Robertson - All Marine Services Alan will speak about various aspects of maintaining
marine diesel engines. A well maintained marine engine
will give years of faultless service, while all too
often we hear stories of failed engines creating danger
and require expensive rescue operations.
9.30am Denise O'Donnell – Australian Navy
Cadets The Australian Navy Cadets offers young people
the opportunity to be part of a team in a formally recognised
structure, with the opportunity to learn valuable skills
in applicable to the marine environment.
10am Captain James Krista – Entering the
luxury industry World wide the luxury yacht industry requires
highly qualified skippers, engineers, and a range of on
board work for various professionals with excellent service
ethic. James will inform about the various requirements
for entering the industry and possible entry points.
10am - Whitsunday Marine Electronics Learn a range of handy hints about reading more
in depth information from your Raymarine or other fish
finder. With better information from your marine electronics
you will be able to improve the accuracy of your fishing.
11am Grant Spees - Whitsunday Fishing World Grant takes
the stage from Whitsunday Fishing World and will go through
the various skills required to get the
best result from your cast net. With a carefully
practised skill, you will be able to get a better result
from your
cast or bait netting.
11.30am Bob Spees – Whitsunday Fishing
World No pastime seems to untouched by technological
advancement. In this talk Bob will detail the advancements
made possible with the introduction of nano technology.
Bob will detail the difference and improvements included
in recently released products to the fishing world.
12pm Fusion Electronics Hear from Fusion Electronics about the latest
in marine hi-fi. Fusion Electronics offers advanced
sound systems optimised to boating, sailing and cruising
use. The rapidly changing face of music carriage with
portable, personal music devices is changing the way
that music is connected and shared with others through
hi-fi systems.
12.30pm Lindsay Dobe – Proserpine Bait
and Tackle Trophy winning Barramundi fisherman Lindsay will
be sure to draw a crowd as he imparts some of this treasured
knowledge catching the elusive and much treasured Barramundi.
Be sure to grab a close by seat to ensure that you can
hear some of this golden knowledge.
1pm Waha Grey – Live Music Enjoy the afternoon with Waha Gray playing covers
on the Airlie Beach Music stage into the afternoon.
Local favourite, his music soothes the soul and creates
an easy listening atmosphere.

9am Roger Boast – Weather Guru Get up early to listen to Roger speak about weather.
The central discussion to all boaties and fishermen, the
weather is something we can't control and therefore something
we must respect. A well planned weekend can go very wrong
without due consideration for the weather, while effective
reading of the weather forecasts can aid decisions in
the direction of happy sailing and a larger catch.
9.30am Jim Hayes – Whitsunday Sailng Club Jim is locally known for his extensive service
of junior sailing, with the development of many young
locals in a sailing town is only reasonable success
at state, national and international level. If you are
interested in your children taking up sailing as a fun,
enjoyable and competitive pastime, this is a great opportunity
to learn more.

11am Whitsunday Diesel Marine If you are considering repowering your boat,
then this informative session will be a great opportunity
to hear about the developments in the Volvo marine engine
range. Volvo are leaders in diesel engine development,
particularly in the marine field.
11.30am Multihull Solutions The growth in numbers of sailing multihulls around
the world signals the popularity of this means of cruising.
There are pros and cons in every method of sailing and
cruising and in this session Multihull Solutions will
inform you about the benefits across the modes of cruising,
mono or multihulls.
12pm Bait Casting competition - Youth and Adult, Girls
and Guys Fancy yourself a skilled bait-caster? At lunch
time on Sunday there will be plenty of fun as you can
pit your skills for some great prizes. Categories challenge
young girls and guys under the age of 15. Adult divisions
for girls and guys . Prizes including rod and reel combos
and the random draw prizes for all contestants will be
three ½ Day fishing charters with the pros.
1pm Live Music The activities and educationals give way to the
easy listening music as the afternoon shifts in the
Seafood Festival bought to you by Fish D'Vine and the
Rotary Club of Airlie Beach. Enjoy the local jazz performers,
the John Garland Duo. What better way to enjoy the Whitsundays
lifestyle, the new Port of Airlie, Boatshow atmosphere,
smooth music and discounted local and/or fresh seafood!
